I love this resort. Truly love it.
I have stayed here seven times, and somehow it gets better with every visit. I already have two more trips planned this year. Resorts do not earn that kind of loyalty by accident. They earn it by delivering consistently, thoughtfully, and with heart.

There is truly something for everyone here
Ochi is not one experience. It is many experiences living side by side.
If you want energy, music, nightlife, and social buzz, it is here.
If you want quiet pools, shaded loungers, hidden corners, and space to fully exhale, that is here too.
If you are travelling as a couple with different vacation styles, or as part of a larger group, this resort makes balance easy.
The property is expansive in the best possible way. Space matters on vacation, and Ochi has plenty of it.
There are over 100 pools spread across beachside and hillside settings. You are never stuck hunting for a chair or feeling crowded. There are tucked-away pools, intimate courtyards, panoramic hillside views, and lively social areas everywhere you turn.

Dining that feels endless
Dining at Ochi feels like a journey of its own.
French. Italian. Seafood. Sushi. Tapas. Casual beach grills. Elevated sit-down dinners. You can eat somewhere different every night and still feel like there is more to explore.
Ethel’s Piano Bar
This cliffside piano bar was once the home of Ethel Stewart, the grandmother of Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts. It sits on the very land where the Stewart family story began in Ocho Rios, long before Sandals became the brand so many travellers trust today.
Instead of letting that history fade, the home was lovingly transformed into one of the most charming spaces on the resort. You feel it the moment you walk in. The warmth. The nostalgia. The sense that this place mattered long before you arrived.
Today, music drifts out over the cliffs, conversations slow down, and strangers become friends over piano keys and laughter. And yes, in my very biased opinion, the best watermelon margaritas on the planet are poured with love by the one and only Mr. Howard.

A resort that listened and evolved
Let’s talk honestly for a moment.
If you have read older online reviews saying Sandals Ochi needed a facelift, that information is no longer accurate.
The majority of the property has undergone extensive renovations. Guest rooms, pools, dining spaces, and common areas have been refreshed and modernized. You spoke. Sandals listened. Today, Ochi feels crisp, clean, bright, and new. She feels cared for, polished, and ready for you.
One of the best Sandals resorts for groups
In my professional opinion, this is one of the best Sandals resorts if you are travelling in a larger group.
There are room categories for most budgets, from entry-level rooms to Club Level and an impressive selection of Butler suites. Butler options are plentiful, many with only two or four suites sharing a pool, which is ideal for friends or family travelling together.
This variety allows everyone to stay on the same resort while choosing the level of luxury that fits them best. That flexibility makes group planning easier and far more enjoyable.

Location, golf, and the extras that matter
Sandals Ochi is located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, approximately 1.5 hours from Montego Bay International Airport.
You are also just minutes from Upton Estates Golf and Country Club, with transfers included. Golf lovers often overlook Ochi, and they should not.
And then there is The Rabbit Hole.
If you know, you know. This speakeasy is pure fun and cannot be missed. Every single stay, it delivers.

The heart of Sandals Ochi. Its people.
No conversation about Sandals Ochi is complete without a very real and very heartfelt thank you to the people who make this resort what it is.
The staff here work tirelessly to make every stay feel warm, personal, and genuinely welcoming. This is not scripted service. This is hospitality that feels human.
You are welcomed like family. Remembered. Checked on. Smiled at. Laughed with. From housekeeping to bartenders, servers to butlers, entertainment teams to grounds crews, the energy across this property is consistent and sincere.
At the heart of it all is Ms. Carol Burke, the General Manager and the true heartbeat of Sandals Ochi. Her leadership is felt in the culture of the resort. The care. The pride. The warmth. It shows in the way the team shows up and in the way guests feel when they leave.
Resorts can renovate rooms, but people create loyalty. This team gets that right every single day.

Why I trust this resort. Deeply.
There is one more reason this resort holds such a special place in my heart.
I was here during a hurricane.
I experienced firsthand how Sandals shows up for its guests in a crisis. The communication. The care. The safety measures. The calm leadership. It was not marketing. It was action. It was responsibility. It was trust earned in real time.

Why I keep going back
Sandals Ochi does not try to be everything to everyone. It simply gives you the space to be exactly who you are on vacation.
Lively when you want it. Peaceful when you need it. Social, spacious, and quietly special.
If you have overlooked Ochi or crossed it off your list based on outdated information, I would encourage you to take a fresh look. Chosen well, it delivers one of the most dynamic, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable Sandals experiences available.
And if seven stays and two upcoming trips do not say enough, I am always happy to share more.
